Uncivilized passenger behavior has caused three Chinese travelers to be blacklisted by air carriers for one to two years. The penalty was imposed for the first time by China Air Transport Association.
China National Tourism Administration named the three banned air travelers as Qiao, Deng and Gao which are just their surnames, reported CNN. Five major Chinese airlines support the blacklist, including Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines.
China Daily reported that the three blacklisted passengers were banned from air travel beginning Feb. 1, 2016. The three were placed on the list for using an electronic device while the plane was landing, throwing a carton of milk at security personnel when ordered to drink it before going through security and pushing a ground employee onto the floor to show anger over a delayed flight.
The three broke the rules of air travel, placed their safety over others and compromised safety.
Air rage over delayed flights has been noted because of the assumption by some air travelers that their jet must take off at the time printed on their tickets. Many of them do not take into account inclement weather or mechanical problems that must be fixed first.
The blacklisting of the three hopes to send the message to other Chinese air passengers to allows follow the rules of flying and show respect to flight crew for them to also be respected.
However, the association could only blacklist Chinese nationals and not foreigners like a male Caucasian passenger who insulted on March 1, while aboard a Shanghai-bound Virgin Atlantic jet a Chinese female passenger whom he called a Chinese pig.
Other behavior considered uncivilized which could result in being added to the association’s blacklist include interrupting, opening emergency doors with no authority, attacking or threatening flight crew, picking fights or brawling inside the plane or airport, and creating or spreading false information about terrorism intentionally, reported CNN.
