While Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee is firmly opposed to same-sex marriage, he said he can be friends with gays.
In a recent interview with Dana Bash of CNN, Huckabee said, "People can be my friends who have lifestyles that are not necessarily my lifestyle. I don't shut people out of my circle or out of my life because they have a different point of view."
Huckabee added that he does not drink alcohol but a lot of his friends do.
Among the prominent openly gay celebrities in Hollywood today is the 2015 Academy Awards host Neil Patrick Harris.
In his memoir titled "Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography," the openly gay Broadway and Hollywood star confessed he lost his virginity to a woman, a "Doogie Howser" fan, during a house party in New Mexico.
As the title implies, Harris' autobiography was presented in a throwback chapter book format, which allows readers to navigate through the parts of the book that most interest them.
Other stories he shared in his memoir was the first man he has ever slept with was one of his co-stars when he was playing a lead role on the Broadway play "Rent," and his husband David Burka was in a relationship with someone else when they first met on a New York street.
"I'm not trying to force my life down anyone's throat. But if you want to read about things being forced down throats, you can go to that page," Harris told The Daily Beast.
