No Pokémon Z 2016 Release as CoroCoro Manga Confirms Gen 7 Magearna for Pokémon Sun & Moon?

'Pokémon Sun' and 'Pokémon Moon' are two upcoming role-playing video games in the 'Pokémon' series developed by Game Freak.

The chance remains slim that alongside the reported Holiday 2016 release date of Pokémon Sun and Moon, Pokémon Z will slip in as a surprise part of the package. Thankfully, the Sun and Moon replacements promise to unload most of the features previously rumored for Z - including the deployment of Gen 7 mons Volcanion and Magearna.

One thing is sure, according to a new report from iDigitalTimes, there will be upcoming movies that will feature both Volcanion and Magearna. Supposedly, the new information is carried by the April 15 CoroCoro edition, which the reports said was leaked in advanced by gaming blog Serebii.net.

Part of the details that CoroCoro will soon publish is the Sun and Moon featuring Magearna as part of the undetermined number of new Pokémons that will make the upcoming game titles exciting. The character, described by the iDigitalTimes report as Mon in the Steel/Fairy category, it seems will be joined by Mawile and Klefki.

Sadly, there is no indication that Zygarde, the multi-form Mon that earlier billed as the main Pokémon Z attraction, will be included in the batch, at least none at the moment. However, the report noted that with Magearna in the Sun and Moon release it goes without saying that the upcoming Pokémons will be of the Generation 7 class.

It is pretty confirmed too, according to Gotta Be Mobile, that with the Sun and Moon, the will part of the deal.  "The PokéBank, a service that exists now so that players of the franchise can offload their monsters onto other versions of the game, will support Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon," the GBM report said.

Somehow, the service has to do with the backward compatibility feature included in the Sun and Moon as ancient pocket monsters stored on the bank can be freely accessed with confirmed support for Pokémon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, and X & Y.

It should be noted though that for Sun and Moon players to fully enjoy backward compatibility, the use Virtual Console is a requirement.

Per Nintendo, the Pokémon Sun and Moon will be made available to gamers on 3DS and 3DS XL around Holiday of 2016, pointing to the likelihood of a Christmas release date.
