The 2017 Audi R8 Plus is the successor of the 2016 Audi R8.

A few journalists managed to get into the 2017 edition of the Audi R8 V10 Plus, as it took laps at the Daytona Testing Track, and concluded that the car has a lot in common with the Lamborghini Huracan. However, there are still some disparities when some aspects are considered.

For example, the Lamborghini Huracan has a $50,000 pricier price tag with a unit going for $260,000 while the 2017 Audi R8 is worth just over $200,000. The new Audi sports car package comes with red paint, trendy wheels, and a premium leather interior, not forgetting a superb stereo system from Bang & Olufsen, Auto Week reported.

When it comes to performance, there is no much difference between the two. The 2017 edition of Audi R8 V10 features a roaring V-10 engine that produces 610 horsepower and 13 pound-feet of torque. The power is then transmitted by a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, which employs the Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

The Lamborghini, in turn, uses a 5.2-liter V-10, which produces 601 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. The engine is technically from a Gallardo version, only with 49 units of extra horsepower and 15 pound-feet of torque added, Car and Driver reported. The transmission system is, in essence, the same with that of the R8.

The Audi R8, nevertheless, has a tamer variant, which packs a 5.2-liter engine that produces 540 of horsepower. This model is also more accessible in terms of affordability, demanding a price of "only" $163,000.

The two cars are capable of reaching 60mph in approximately 3 seconds, according to the respective manufacturers. The Lamborghini Huracan takes the lead in terms of top speed, reaching a maximum of 202mph, which is 20mph more than the 2017 Audi R8.

It is also notable that the Audi is more spacious than the Lamborghini Huracan. Its revamped design brings the sensation of a bigger space and luxury. From the countless high-tech engineering nips, the elements that stand out in the new Audi are the adjustable driving modes and the launch controls.

The Audi R8 V10 Plus also sticks out as the most expensive car that Volkswagen has ever manufactured.
