One great thing about HTC 10 is that the smartphone delivers great sound. It has dual speakers and fancy software technology to give fantastic music and movies.
While HTC 10 is a hard to pull off in the world full of black slabs, at $699 unlocked, the smartphone does not offer the same hardware performance like its Android competitors, according to Cnet. The phone's performance is similar to Google Nexus 6P, although the 6P is cheaper.
One the other hand, the HTC 10 battery does not last as long as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5. There are also times when its camera exposure misses the mark. Competing smartphones can stand to have better audio like the HTC 10, but this flagship phone lacks all the other things that define a great phone.
With regard to the design, the HTC 10 sports an aluminum casing with angular edges, which adds to the refined, industrial beauty HTC is reputable for. The smartphone has a slim body making the battery inbuilt.
The HTC Company eliminated the dual front-facing audio speakers seen in previous devices. The current flagship comes with one speaker grille on the top bezel and a home button on the bottom. The second speaker is present, but located on the bottom edge.
Another report by the same publication indicates that the fingerprint scanner on HTC 10 offer extra security, besides launching Google's digital assistance service, Google Now. The Now shortcut found on the smartphone is not a deal breaker, but it can get irritating. When a user accidentally launches the Now app by resting a finger on the home button, it is frustrating to constantly quit it throughout the day.
HTC 10 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC's Sense user interface skinned on top. The phone manufacturer has integrated with Google so deeply that the only perceivable browser is Chrome. The smartphone comes with Play Music and Google Photos.
Meanwhile, HTC's signature BlinkFeed offers users a feed of news and social networks. There are also Themes that allow users to customize parts of the interface such as the layout, wallpaper, and app design.
