Bottom three club Newcastle United FC (7-19-7, 28 points) continues to fight off relegation to the Football League Championship as it faces top three team Manchester City FC (18-9-6, 60 points) at their home field of St. James' Park on Tuesday, April 19th as the 2015-2016 Premier League season comes down to its last few matchdays.

Newcastle is currently second to the last place in the overall standings and three points away from getting out of the bottom three relegation zone. With five games left in their current campaign, they still have a chance to overtake Norwich City and Sunderland, who are now at the 17th and 18th spots of the league table, and stay in the English top flight next season.

The Magpies pulled off a lopsided 3-0 win over fellow lowly club Swansea City also at their home ground last Saturday, as reported by SkySports.

Defender Jamaal Lascelles scored the opening goal of the contest at the 40th minute for new manager Rafa Benitez's side to go up by one point at the half. It took the team the last eight minutes, though, before they scored their second and third goals, courtesy of midfielders Moussa Sissoko and Andros Townsend at the 82nd and 89th minutes respectively.

The win snapped Newcastle's seven-game winless slide and made them only two points behind Sunderland in the standings.

Meanwhile, Manchester City won their third consecutive match by trouncing a 10-man Chelsea FC squad, 3-0, at the Stamford Bridge last Saturday, as per ESPN.

Argentine striker Sergio Agüero had one of his most impressive offensive performances lately as he unleashed a hat trick at the 33rd, 54th, and 80th minutes to lead Manuel Pellegrini's boys over the deposed defending champions.

With the victory, City overtook Arsenal for the third spot in the league table. The two teams are tied on points, but the Citizens have a superior goal differential than the Gunners.

The predicted result is another 3-0 romp for Manchester City as they hold firm to the last Champions League group stage berth.
