Imminent Google Nexus 2016 Release Date as Nexus 6P Now Sells at $400, Nexus 5X at $300?

Google Nexus is a line of consumer electronic devices that run the Android operating system.

Google is all set for the 2016 I/O Developers Conference that likely will reveal Android N among other things. And the upcoming event also indicates that the Nexus 2016 release date is quite near, which is further hinted by the ongoing sale of Google's 2015 flagship that pushed the price tag down to $400 for the Nexus 6P and $300 for the Nexus 5X.

The participating sellers include Amazon, Best Buy, B&H and Google Play Store but Android fans can snap up the best deal from B&H. The outlet has already shaved off $50 from the Nexus 6P current sticker price of $499 but it didn't stop there as another $50 gift card is bundled with the promo, giving a total of $100 savings for prospective buyers.

According to Phone Arena, the offer is for all colors, meaning buyers can choose from Aluminum, Gold and Graphite and can still take advantage of the discount. All storage configurations are included on the deal but the lowest price involves only the 32GB Nexus 6P. So jumping to higher memory will mean picking a bit deeper on the pocket.

It should be noted too that all deals will provide SIM-free handsets so no lock-in period to worry about.

TechnoBuffalo said that the LG-made Nexus 5X is up for grabs as well but the price cut is limited only to $50. However, the resulting asking price of $299 should be tempting enough.

And why not when both Nexus phones boast of Pure Android build with the key benefits of getting the Google mobile operating system in vanilla flavor - no bloats or unnecessary add-ons - and absorbing software updates and security patches the same day they get deployed. The deal gets better as both the Nexus 5X and 6P are the best that the series has produced so far - carefully-picked hardware components inside and out plus premium build.

Yet the best things about Nexus seem ahead and could be touching down soon as signaled by the ongoing sales involving Google's latest smartphone lineup. With the devices' sticker price consistently getting cheaper in the past week, rumors are firing up that the Nexus 5X and 6P sequels are arriving real soon.

While details on the next Nexus remain scarce, Android fans know so far that just like year there will be at least two Nexus phone models and for the 2016 project Google will likely tap two players - HTC and Huawei. A vanilla Android phone coming from Huawei is believed to take after the well-loved Nexus 6P but a Nexus assembled by HTC will likely resemble the newly unveiled HTC 10.

Any of the two should be given sneak peeks at the Google I/O 2016 starting May 18, which many believed will reveal the Android N final cut and will be followed by the Nexus 2016 release date.
