5 promising K-Dramas to watch after ‘Descendants of the Sun’ (DoTS) ends

The KBS' blockbuster television drama "Descendants of the Sun" (DoTS) will come to an end on April 22, Friday, after it airs its special episode Day 3. The highly-anticipated segment will air an epilogue to the Captain Yoo Si Jin (Song Jong-Ki), Doctor Kang Mo-Yeon (Song Hye Kyo), Sergeant Seo Dae-Young (Jin Goo) and Yoon Myeong-ju (Kim Ji-won).

"Descendants of the Sun" (DoTS) earned enormous popularity and became the number one show of recent times. The Big Boss and Beauty, and Wolf and Myeong-ju's story touched hearts, leaving fans wanting for more. However, fans can take comfort in the fact that there a number of amazing shows that are already on air or are about to premiere. While it can't be predicted if these shows are better than "Descendants of the Sun," but they seem promising and can help fans get over the void.

Here are the five Korean dramas to watch after "Descendants of the Sun" (DoTS).

1.    'Master-God of Noodle'-Starring Chun Jung Myung in the lead role of Moo Myung Yi premieres immediately after "Descendants of the Sun" (DoTS) final special episode airs. It is the story of a man, who seeks revenge and to even scores with his enemy he must master the art of making noodles. The 20-episode series was formerly known as "Time of the Beast." 2.  "Monster": Starring Kang Ji Hwan, Lee Ki Kwang, Sung Yoo Ri and Cha Soo Yun, "Monster" premiere on March 28. The show revolves around the struggle of a man through 1997 financial crisis to achieve his goal and find the love of his life. The MBC show consists of 50 episodes will come to an end in September 2016.

3.  "Entertainer": Premiere just last week, "Entertainer" is an enjoyable romantic comedy. Starring Ji Sung as Shin Suk Ho, Hyeri as Jung Geu Rin, Kang Min Hyuk as Jo Ha Neul, and Chae Jung Ahn as Yeo Min Joo, the SBS show will feature 16 episodes. It explores the lives of four young people, who come together to form a music band.

4.  "Dear My Friends": In celebration of its 10th year anniversary, tvN is presenting a drama that depicts the lives of the old and young people, who become friends. The show starring Go Hyun Jung, Kim Young OK, Kim Hye Ja, Na Moon Hee, Joo Hyun, Shin Goo, Park Won Sook and more will premiere on May 13.

5.  "The Flower in Prison": The MBC series is a historical melodrama starring Jin Se Yun as Lee Seo Won, Jung Da Bin as Lee Seo Won (young), Go Soo as Yoon Tae Won, Park Joo Mi as Jung Nan Jung, Kim Mi Sook as Queen Munjeong and others premieres April 30. It explores the story of Lee Seo Won, who was born in prison and grew up bringing justice to people who were falsely accused of a crime and punished. She uses the Waeji-bu, the private litigation system in Josean.
