"The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder's wife Nikki Reed is reportedly ready to have a child with the actor.

In an interview with E! News, the "Sleepy Hollow" actress said that having children with Somerhalder in the near future is "in the cards."

Reed was at the Kiehl's Earth Day event where she talked about her partnership with the brand. Reed also talked about the other causes she and Somerhalder are active in.

"Our household is very busy all the time. No boring conversations at dinner. You can tell by the crowd that a lot of people feel familiar in this kind of environment talking about this stuff. It's a wonderful thing that Kiehl's is... focusing on the importance of recycling and also making that accessible for young people," she said.

Meanwhile, Somerhalder previously talked about having children with his wife. During a previous interview, he said that he wants their children to also be actively involved in all the causes that they are invested in.

"One would hope that anyone that has this passion... would instill in their own children or of the like very similar ideologies," he said.

In other news, Somerhalder recently confirmed that he will be leaving "The Vampire Diaries" at the end of next season.

This has led fans to believe that his ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev will be returning to the show very soon.

According to multiple sources, Reed doesn't have any issues with Somerhalder and Dobrev reuniting on the hit The CW show especially if it could help boost ratings and make fans happy.

Since Reed is very much invested in her marriage to Somerhalder, the couple has decided to do everything in their power to make their relationship work. This includes not being bothered by rumors that are not necessarily healthy for their relationship.

However, as of late, there is still no word whether or not Dobrev will actually return to "The Vampire Diaries" to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

What is only known is that the series may also end at the end of season 8.
