"The Last of Us" prequel is rumored to be unveiled at E3 2017.

Good news "The Last of Us" gamers, as new details pertaining to the game's sequel were revealed.

The game developer of "The Last of Us" video game, Naughty Dog, is reported to be done with the DLC version of "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," which has been rumored to be made available later this year. This information has once again sparked speculations on one of the most anticipated games in the gaming world, "The Last of Us 2."

According to a report, Naughty Dog's completion of the "Uncharted 4" DLC will give the game developer more time to focus on developing "The Last of Us 2." With that said, there is a probability that fans may see the sequel of their favorite survival horror game at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017.

Fresh reports indicate that the creative director of Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, may have confirmed the sequel's development, when Druckmann said that the team has already started working on prototypes of various ideas for the sequel. However, the team had to pause for a while, given the fact that it is still developing a downloadable content for "Uncharted 4" (during that moment). The creative director added that after they are done with the DLC of "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," the team may go into the revival of "The Last of Us 2's" prototypes.

In regards to the plot of the long awaited sequel, rumors points out that the second installment might be a prequel, which could have a title of "Days Gone." The rumors also leads to information that since the anticipated game may be a prequel, fans may not be able to see Ellie and Joel in it. Given this detail, fans of the game reacted differently.

Some said that Ellie and Joel's story were told perfectly, and that it should be okay if the two will not be in "The Last of Us 2." while other fans are saying that the two characters should remain in the prequel, and that there are more stories to tell for Ellie and Joel.

As of the moment, there have been no credible confirmations in regards to the development of "The Last of Us 2," so fans would just need to strengthen their patience until Naughty Dog makes its official announcement of the game.
