A series of photos taken from the Atlanta, Georgia set of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" have surfaced online. These images reintroduced the Ravagers and gave fans their first look at the new character Taserface.
The "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" set photos were posted on a Reddit page by a fan named Gusmarvel. One of the images showed actor Michael Rooker in heavy blue makeup. The actor reprises his role as head of the Ravagers and Star-Lord's (Chris Pratt) adoptive father Yondu.
Meanwhile, a couple of the shots also revealed the return of the other Ravagers from "Guardians of the Galaxy." Sean Gunn (Kraglin) is in another photo hanging out with new casts Tommy Flanagan and Chris Sullivan, who also play as Ravagers.
Flanagan plays Tulk and Sullivan has been rumored for the role of Taserface in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." Movie director James Gunn and the Sullivan himself have yet to confirm the rumors. However, the actor's character look definitely points to Taserface.
Sullivan' Mohawk is somehow reminiscent of the villain's appearance in the Marvel comics. The space warrior sports a Mohawk/ponytail in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" comics. The character also possesses an immense height, which Sullivan clearly also possesses. The photo showed him towering above the other actors.
Production and storyline details for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" remain scarce as of the moment. Gunn has so far also kept mum on character details. However, this is not the first time Taserface's name was brought up with regard to Gunn's films.
The director was asked about Taserface's possible appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, during the early production stages of "Guardians of the Galaxy." According to Cinema Blend, Gunn had crossed out the villain's inclusion. He said Taserface's chances of appearing in his "Guardians of the Galaxy" films are "quite low." Perhaps he has changed his mind this time, since it seems Sullivan is indeed playing the character in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" also stars Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), The Rock (Groot) Zoe Saldana (Gamora) and Karen Gillan (Nebula). The film opens in US theaters on May 5, 2017.
