Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was unveiled in August last year. Speculations are doing the rounds that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will be released in August 2016.

Let's take a look at the specifications of the two Samsung devices.

According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will have a more vibrant and brighter display than Galaxy Note 5. The Note 5 features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The Galaxy Note 6 will feature a 5.8-inch AMOLED screen with a Quad HD resolution.

Rumors are doing the rounds that the tech giant Samsung will bring back microSD card slot for the upcoming phablet.

The Galaxy Note 5 comes with 128 GB, 64GB and 32GB storage options. Reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will come with 256GB, 128GB and 64GB storage options.

There are speculations that the tech company will ship the forthcoming phablet with different processors in different markets.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is expected to feature Exynos 8890 as well as Snapdragon 820 processors depending on the market it sells in. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is powered by Exynos 7420 SoC.

Rumor has it that the forthcoming Samsung device will come with 6GB of RAM. The Galaxy Note 5 comes with 4GB of RAM.

It is said that the main camera of the Note 6 will come equipped with super optical image stabilization feature. The feature will bring in 20% improvement in camera stabilization while taking photos in poor light conditions.

According to many reports, the company is testing two variants of the Note 6, one with a curved screen and and the other with a flat screen. The variants share same features and specifications.

It is said that the upcoming phablet will have features like IP68-certification (waterproof) and iris scanner, Digital Trends reported. Also, several reports suggests that the electronics giant may introduce foldable S Pen to the Galaxy Note 6.

Meanwhile, according to a SamMobile report, the company has rolled out the security update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 in India. The April security update comes with bug fixes, performance-related improvements and some stability improvements.

The Android 6.0.1 M update, which weighs 19 MB, bumps up the firmware version in a user's handset to version N920GDDS2BPD2. This same version has been rolled out in Sri Lanka and Nepal for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
