Google Nexus 2016 Release Nears as LG Nexus 5X Hits Lowest Price Point with $150 Discount on eBay?

The new Nexus 5X phone is displayed during a Google media event on September 29, 2015 in San Francisco, California.

Already considered as best bang for the buck of a device, the LG-made Nexus 5X just got even more tempting with price cutback of $150 over at eBay, leaving the 16GB model ready to ship for only $239 and the 32GB variant for just $289. So with the Nexus sticker price on the downward path lately, is Google going ahead for the Nexus 2016 release date real soon?

The question emerged as retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, B&H and now online auction site eBay have been conducting promo deals that involve the Nexus 5X and 6P in the past weeks and months. And preparations for the next Nexus rollout seemed to have gained further speed as the Nexus 9 tablet suddenly disappeared from the Google Play Store, which also currently displays the 5X and 6P with reduced price tag.

The Pure Android handsets indeed have been the subject of tempting deals lately but the latest from eBay is the biggest price shave off to date. As noted by Android Headlines, deducting $150 from the Nexus 5X will translate to huge saving for buyers as the introductory price of the 16GB edition was at $379 and the 32GB at $429.

Alongside the realized savings, shoppers get to unbox a stock Android phone with a 5.2-inch display that renders in Full HD 1080p resolution. The power inside is generated by a 6-core Snapdragon 808 chip that is tapped on 2GB of RAM for support. For the best shooting enjoyment, Google made sure that LG will equip the 5X with the best camera system available, which is a combo of 12MP on rear and 5MP on front.

And as the case always, the best thing about a smartphone bearing the Nexus brand is Android in its most glorious and purest form. "On the software side ... the handset will continue to get timely updates to newer Android versions for the next 18 months or so," Phone Arena said. And that is solid assurance of extended firmware support, which is key to top-notch smartphone experience.

Take note though that while the best of Google last year has become more affordable, the Nexus sequels are likely to touchdown soon. Report said that there will be at least three devices to expect this 2016 - a 7-inch Nexus 7 2016 tablet from Huawei and two Nexus phones from HTC that are codenamed Marlin (M1) and Sailfish (S1).

Any of these devices will come out within or right after the Google I/O 2016 that will start May 18 but more Android fans are convinced that the first Nexus 2016 release date will unpack the third Nexus 7 tablet, running on stock Android N.
