EXO prepping for an early summer comeback with new studio album, concert tour: Reports

Exo, stylized as EXO, is a South Korean-Chinese boy group formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2011.

Rumor has it that EXO may be preparing for a big musical comeback in early summer. The boy band is said to be planning a comeback with their much-awaited studio album and will be followed by a concert tour.

While EXO's representatives are keeping tight-lipped, multiple industry insiders claimed that the k-pop idols is coming back in June, stating that EXO is reportedly in the final preparations of producing their new studio album, The Xports News reported. The new album will mark the group's first regular album since "Exodus," which was released on March 30, 2015, in both Korean and Mandarin versions.

Apart from that, EXO are rumored to be planning a concert tour that will kick off in mid-July. All members are reportedly working hard to return quickly to their fans regardless of their bustling schedules.

"It is not yet decided, but it is said that they are preparing for a comeback concert in mid or late July," an associate of the concert said to Xports News, as translated by Soompi.

EXO made their debut in 2012 and immediately rose to fame with the release of their first album called "XOXO" in 2013, which contained the breakthrough track, "Growl." The group comprises of twelve members - separated into two subgroups, EXO-K, and EXO-M.

As of press time, the group carried on with only nine members following the departure of Kris in May 2014, Luhan in Oct. 2014 and Tao in August 2015. The nine members are Xiumin, Suho, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O, Kai and Sehun.

Since their debut in the music industry, EXO has won 59 music program in South Korea and mainland China, which earned them a huge number of lucrative commercial endorsements. The group is currently the face of different enormous brands and companies such as Baskin-Robbins, IVY Club, Lotte World, MCM, Lotte Duty-Free, Peppero, SPAO, Hats On, Goobne Chicken and Kangshifu Ice Tea.

Due to their skyrocketed popularity, the group has once again named as the most powerful celebrity by Forbes Korea for the year 2015. EXO also held their first North America tour in Feb. 2016, "EXO'luXion," which took place in Dallas, New York, Vancouver, Chicago and Los Angeles.
