Selena Gomez performs at her "Revival" world tour in Las Vegas.

Selena Gomez on May 6, Friday has officially started her world tour for her latest album, “Revival” in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. The hotly-anticipated concert opened with a musical performance by pop rock band, DNCE.

According to E! News, there were a lot of exciting surprises that unfolded on the first show including Gomez’ performance of her latest song, “Hands To Myself," as well as fan-favorite hit, “Love You Like a Love Song” in front of a jam packed concert hall.

Before the main show, fans of Gomez were also treated with musical performances from Joe Jonas and his pop band, DNCE, who made the hit song “Cake by the Ocean.” On Instagram, the group shared how much fun they had as Gomez’s first act. “LAST NIGHT WAS EPIC!” the group said.

At this point in her career, the 23-year-old actress/singer feels bolder in keeping her audience entertained. In a report, she said that “Revival” is very much about herself and she means that in a way of confidence and strength.

"It has a beautiful feel to it, but it is about me,” she told Billboard. “So if I wanted to come in one day and say I want to change [a song in the show] or add this, I can do that." Continuing, Gomez shares that it is the first time she embraced being audacious and she feels great about it.

The “Revival” world tour is not solely produced for entertainment, it is in fact also a charity event. The proceeds from each show will be donated to the Alliance for Lupus Research. Last year, Selena revealed that she was diagnosed with lupus and later explained that she waited for the right time to discuss it because she found herself in a great place and her health is doing good.
