'The Witcher 3' DLC update: 'Blood and Wine' to feature 90 quests, 20 monsters, new mutations, 'Grandmaster' armor set; Release date set on May 31 [VIDEO]

'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' is an action-RPG video game developed by CD Projekt RED for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC Platform.

The latest details for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" will feature new armor, mutations, quest, monsters and an official release date of "Blood and Wine".

CD Projekt RED officially announced that "The Witcher 3" final DLC expansion "Blood and Wine" will launch on May 31 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms, along with a new teaser trailer featuring Geralt travelling to the new region of Touissant, VG 24/7 reported.

In the teaser trailer, Geralt arrives at Touissant and seeing all of its beauty and peaceful folk going with their everyday life, but several cutscenes indicates that their is more to Touissant than meets the eye as a vampire type monster appears and begins attacking people within the region.

The release date for "Blood and Wine" was first leaked on the Steam listing at May 30-31 and previous reports claim that the DLC will be available on June 7 by Polish retail website GRYOnline.

Meanwhile, CD Projekt RED revealed new details on "Blood and Wines" in-game features as it contains over 30 hours of gameplay, over 90 new quest, 40 points of interest, 100 individual pieces of armor, more than 20 new monsters, a new Dynamic points of interest and New Game+ maximum level increase to 100.

Geralt will be receiving a new "Grandmaster class" armor set as "Blood and Wine" will introduce a new armor merchant that can make these pieces of armor. There are also armors from the past "Witcher games" such as the blue hooded armor from "The Witcher 2" and an Ursine Witcher armor from the game's art book. Gamers can also dye their armor and can be bought from merchants, crafted or looted, 30 new weapons and a golden Touissant armor will be available for purchase along with a horse armor for Roach.

"Blood and Wine" DLC will feature new mutations and skills for Geralt as gamers will be busy leveling up and unlocking all 12 abilities, while some skills such as Mechanics can be unlocked through quests.

The UI in the DLC resembles "The Witcher 2’s" character customization screen. It contains strong abilities/stat boosts that requires mutagens and skill points to unlock. Geralt will also have a new home base called "Corvo Bianco" along with a new vineyard and gamers can renovate the base such as adding armourer's table, a horse stable, guest rooms, secret labs, buying paintings and a garden to grow herbs for potion making.

Characters such as Yennefer and Triss Merigold will be appearing in "Blood and Wine" joining Fringello Vigo and her cousin Anna Henriatta, while Dandelion and Regis are rumored to return to the expansion, WCCFTech reported.

The "Blood and Wine" DLC will cost around $19.99 or get it at "The Witcher 3's" expansion pass. In addition, a limited box edition of the DLC will contain new physical Gwent card decks, guide, tokens and code for the DLC.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is currently available on the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
