“Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki has arrived in Chongqing, China, on Wednesday for three days of taping for the Chinese variety show "Happy Camp."
However, a video clip of his arrival at Changsa Airport showed the 30-year-old actor appears to be unhappy because he was not given the chance to greet fans waiting for him at the airport. For his safety and to avoid chaos, the security team had the Hallyu star use the VIP Exit Gate.
Eleven photos shared on a Facebook Vietnamese fan page showed the actor arriving at the airport with a white mask covering his nose and mouth, while wearing a black cap in reverse. The different protocol at the Chinese airport contrasted with Song Joong-ki’s arrival in Bangkok where he was allowed to greet the hundreds of fans at the airport.
He will begin his eight-city tour of China on Saturday, May 14, first in Beijing. But prior to the Beijing fan meet, Song Joong-ki will tape for three days for “Happy Camp,” a variety show.
After 16 episodes of action and drama, the actor is taking a respite by guesting in variety shows. In South Korea, he earlier guested in “Hurry Up, Brother,” the Chinese version of “Running Man.” Song Joong-ki had the chance to show his “artistic side” on Episode 27 of “Hurry Up, Brother” which was taped in South Korea.
