Microsoft adds multi-disc 360 titles to Xbox One backward compatibility library.

Microsoft has eventually found a way to make its Xbox One backward compatibility support multi-disk Xbox 360 titles. Xbox Live director of programming, Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb, has confirmed this in a recent post on Reddit.

Earlier, it was believed that it may not be possible for Xbox One compatibility to support multi-disk Xbox 360 titles, but the Redmond tech giant has found a way to offer support for multi-disc Xbox 360 games. A lot of work had to be done to make the Xbox 360 multi-disk titles available on the current console of the company, according to a blog post by Major Nelson.

Nelson wrote in his post that that he can substantiate that the backward compatibility team at Microsoft has done lots of work to support multi-disc scenarios. At the same time, he urged the fans to thank the backward compatibility engineers, who made it possible.

Meanwhile, "Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut" is the first multi-disc 360 title that was added to the backward compatible games library earlier this week. Other noteworthy multi-disc releases on Xbox 360 comprise role-playing games (RPG) such as "Blue Dragon" and "Lost Odyssey."

In addition, "Mass Effect 2" and "Mass Effect 3" also use multiple discs and "Mass Effect 2" is already backward compatible on Xbox One. In December, the standard edition of "Human Revolution" also became backward compatible on Xbox One, Polygon reported.

Microsoft announced on the franchise official Twitter account had announced at that time that its engineers were working to release the updated version of "Human Revolution" to Xbox One sometime in 2016 beginning. However, earlier, the Redmond-headquartered company said that technically it was not possible to make Xbox 360 titles using multiple discs compatible with Xbox One.

An Xbox spokesperson told the media outlet that they are aware that fans have been soliciting this feature and Microsoft's engineers worked hard developing a solution to make it possible for the company to further expand the titles that are included in Xbox One backward compatibility.

The spokesperson further said that they are listening to their fans on Xbox Feedback and working with their publishing partners to expand Xbox One backward compatibility titles' library so that they can offer the fans more multi-disc games.
