"Agent Carter" is going off air after ABC television network canceled the show just after two seasons. It was reported that the low viewership rating was to blame for the producers' decision to pull out the Marvel TV program from broadcast.

While the expectations from the series was high at first, the actual outcome was far from the projected rating. Reports stated that since Season 1, the program has low ratings because it failed to impress the audience, and the reason for this was the slow pace of the story.

Despite the low rating, the series have other viewers who praised "Agent Carter" saying that the lead character Peggy Carter is an amazing person who is an exemplary role model. This is why they are asking Netflix to save the series from being axed.

The show's supporters posted a petition on change.org. They are urging the streaming site Netflix to take the show so they can continue watching their beloved female superhero. So far, as of May 14, more than 19,500 people have signed the petition.

In any case, the show featured an emotional ending and it left a lot of questions unanswered however, rather than continuing the story with Season 3, ABC wanted an "Agents of SHIELD" spin-off which will be titled "Marvel's Most Wanted." Now that it has been confirmed that "Agent Carter" is not coming back for another season, the series' lead star Hayley Atwell is set to appear in a new show called "Conviction."

The new drama will also star remarkable actors including Merrin Dungey, Emily Kinney, Shawn Ashmore, Manny Montana and Daniel DiTomasso. Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper will serve as executive producers.

Meanwhile, ABC Network is not showing any mercy as several other shows were also canceled alongside "Agent Carter." According to Us Weekly, the popular comedy shows "The Muppets" and "The Family," long-running drama "Castle," and musical drama "Nashville" will all be pulled out as well. The broadcasting network has yet to announced what will replace the axed shows.
