Versus Evil and Stoic Studios officially announced the arrival of "The Banner Saga 2" for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on July 26.

Versus Evil, an independent game publishing company, in partnership with Stoic Studios, released the second iteration of "The Banner Saga" franchise, "The Banner Saga 2," for PC earlier this year. Now, the game publisher is expected to release "The Banner Saga 2" for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in July.

The "The Banner Saga 2" PC game, which was made available for download in March, has since gone on to garner impressive reviews from critics and casual gamers alike. The title currently holds a rating of 82 percent on Metacritic and 8.9 out of 10 from IGN.

Because of the success of "The Banner Saga 2" on PC, many console gamers have waited patiently since March for any news surrounding the release of the game on PlayStation and Xbox. Thankfully for them, it seems like the long wait is over.

Versus Evil and Stoic Studios officially announced the arrival of "The Banner Saga 2" for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on July 26. Since the announcement, Stoic Studios technical director John Watson has excitedly commented on the swift release of the game for the popular consoles.

According to Watson, as reported by Gematsu, the company deliberately intended for the game to be released as quickly as possible; however, because of the relative size of their team, Watson reveals that they had to work twice as hard to make "The Banner Saga 2" available before the end of this year.

"Although our team size dictated what we could do with the first release, we knew that a two year wait for the sequel was just not acceptable, so we worked extremely hard to ensure that console gamers could continue their journey in a timely fashion," quipped by Watson.

Following the announcement, Versus Evil and Stoic Studios have since released teasers for "The Banner Saga 2" on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. On the game's official Facebook page, the game's developers explained how hard they worked in order to make the fantastic graphics for the game. They have also revealed how hopeful they are that "The Banner Saga 2" gamers would enjoy what they made.

"Arnie and Igor have spent a lot of time working on the art for‪#‎BannerSaga and ‪#‎BannerSaga2 and we truly hope you have enjoyed everything you've seen thus far," read one of the posts on the "Banner Saga 2's" Facebook account.
