Roman Reigns is the WWE's top superstar and he has been pushed hard for the past couple of years. However, the latest rumors imply that WWE chairman Vince McMahon is losing faith in Reigns since the majority of the fans has not fully accepted him.
The current WWE World Heavyweight champion still gets a lot of boos from most crowds and he has embraced it. Reigns has called himself "The Guy" because of the fact that he is not really a good guy or a bad guy.
The WWE has done everything they can to get him over the fans, even masking the live boos by piping the crowd noise on television. The company has also tried using his connections with The Rock but still no avail.
According to Daily Wrestling News, Mr. McMahon is reportedly growing tired of Reigns not getting over the WWE universe. The return of other top WWE superstars like John Cena and Bray Wyatt is coming at a perfect time. Former WWE champions Seth Rollins and Randy Orton are also returning next month.
It is also mentioned that the WWE chairman may also call up some of NXT's top superstars into the main roster. Finn Balor, Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura are three of the biggest names at developmental that could have a major impact immediately.
However, WWEs Chief Operating Officer Triple H still believes that Reigns will get over the crowd. Nonetheless, it looks like the WWE and its creative team is running out of ideas to get the WWE champion cheered more.
Reigns is set to defend his WWE championship at "Extreme Rules" in an Extreme Rules match against A.J. Styles. Their feud has been entertaining and it is expected to last until the "Money in the Bank" pay-per-view in June, Cageside Seats reported.
In the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Styles got the upper hand after attacking Reigns with a steel chair. He also hit his finisher, Styles Clash, on Reigns onto the steel chair.
The Usos and Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows are also involved in the storyline that may lead to much bigger things. The WWE has been teasing the debut of the "Bulletproof Balor Club" for several months now and it can happen at "Extreme Rules."
