Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt have been out of television for two different reasons. The latest rumors suggest that Lesnar vs. Wyatt may finally happen at SummerSlam on Aug. 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The WWE teased a feud between The Beast and The Wyatt Family at the start of the year. Many fans believed that it will lead to a match at WrestleMania 32 but the plan was scrapped.
Lesnar proceeded to defeat Dean Ambrose in an Extreme Rules Match while The Wyatts got beat up by The Rock and John Cena at the biggest show of the year. According to Cageside Seats, the much-anticipated feud between Lesnar and Wyatt may finally be happening at SummerSlam.
The former WWE and UFC champion have not appeared on television since WrestleMania 32 due to being a part-time superstar. He is rumored to be coming back a month before SummerSlam to build a program, presumably against The Wyatt Family.
However, the WWE was slowly turning them into babyfaces until they were taken off television because of an injury sustained by Wyatt at an event in Italy. The Wyatt Family patriarch suffered a strained calf following a slip in the ring.
The four-man stable was already missing Luke Harper, who suffered a dislocated patella and a torn medial patellofemoral ligament in his right knee. He is set to return some time later in the year, possibly in September or October.
According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, WWE chairman Vince McMahon revealed in a conference call that Wyatt along with other injured stars like Seth Rollins and Randy Orton will be returning in June. Nonetheless, The Wyatt Family may be coming back as heels again since the League of Nations, who they are supposed to feud with, already disbanded.
Fans should expect Wyatt, as well as Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman back on WWE television in the June 6 episode of Monday Night Raw in Oklahoma City. As for SummerSlam, there are still no matches or storylines confirmed because the WWE tends to change their plans on a regular basis.
The WWE still have three pay-per-views before the biggest event of the summer: Extreme Rules on May 22, Money in the Bank on June 19 and Battleground on July 24. Check out the video below of The Wyatt Family attacking Lesnar in an episode of Raw.
