Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly talked to the executive producer of the show about how different Season 2 is from the last season. Shyamalan revealed that every character in the new season is waking and they are having "their own arc," so viewers will see their initiation.

He teased that a bunch of characters from Season 1 is making a comeback. "The beauty of the premise is that it exists on multiple time frames [so you can ask], like, how did that person get there? Why was it built like that? What does that mean? So we urge the writers of this show to lean into using time frames a lot, because the premise is now outed and it's interesting to learn about each of the characters and why they were chosen," Shyamalan said.

"Wayward Pines" Season 2 premieres May 25 on Fox.
