Nashville star Connie Britton performs on the season finale of the musical soap.

The "Nashville" Season 4 finale is set to air on May 25, Wednesday, on ABC. In the episode, Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) will make a decision on how to publicly address what really took place about the death of Jeff Fordham (Oliver Hudson).

In Season 4 episode 11 titled "Forever and for Always," Colt Wheeler (Keean Johnson) confessed to Layla Grant (Aubrey Peeples) the truth behind how Jeff really died. When Juliette confessed to Layla about the night Jeff died while saving her in Season 4 episode 18 titled "The Trouble with the Truth," Layla said that nothing has changed between them.

In Season 4 episode 21 titled "Maybe You'll Appreciate Me Someday," Will Lexington (Chris Carmack) becomes a leader in a sense. In the previous episode, Will decided he wanted to meet Cynthia Davis (Mandy June Turpin) face to face.

Rayna James (Connie Britton) learns who Maddie Conrad (Lennon Stella) has encountered and takes dire action in the finale of Season 4. One music duo may also go their separate ways in the last episode of the ABC drama series created by Callie Khouri.

After the announcement of the cancellation of "Nashville" along with "Castle," ABC Entertainment Group president Channing Dungey offered an explanation. Before her presentation to Madison Avenue ad buyers days after the cancellation, she talked to reporters in an early conference.

"At the end of the day, we didn't feel that even though 'Castle' and 'Nashville' were wonderful shows and good performers for a long time, the future for us didn't lie in those shows," Hollywood Reporter quoted Dungey as saying. She emphasized that Lionsgate TV and ABC Studios were looking for the best creative and financial ways for the two shows to work.

According to Dungey, decisions came down to the wire after they looked at ratings new development and their own finances and looking at. She acknowledged that it was difficult to weigh and measure different things.

It appears that Panettiere is not giving any "Nashville" Season 4 finale spoilers on Twitter. Her most recent tweet was about her postpartum depression.

"We like that drama, those highs and lows and peaks and valleys of life," Panettiere told Yahoo before the announcement of "Nashville" cancellation. "That's what keeps us satisfied."
