The latest details for "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will feature a possible appearance of Jay Garrick and a description of the new main villain of the show.
As season 1 of "Legends of Tomorrow" has ended with the team defeating the Immortal Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) and stopping his rise to power, Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and his rest of the members Sara Lane/White Canary (Caity Lotz), Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh), Mick Rory/Heatwave (Dominic Purcell), Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jax Jackon (Franz Drameh) will continue to defend the timeline from any threat, but as they are about to embark on a new journey as second and heavli damaged Waverider arrives at the scene and fans are introduce to Rex Tyler/Hourman (Patrick J. Adams) who warns them that if they go, they will die and further revealed that he is a member of the Justice Society of America.
This comes as a complete shock to the fans as "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 may involve a plot featuring the JSA, which is a precurser to the Justice League. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim told The Hollywood Reporter that it was a "big move" in the DC TV series due to rich history of team in the comics.
Guggenheim added that the new villain in season 2 of "Legends of Tomorrow" will be a much bigger threat than Vandal Savage going so far as to telling them that Savage looks like a "walk in the park" compared to this villain. He also debunked that idea that the team will face the Thanagarians in the show as both Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) and Carter Hall/Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) have left the group.
In other news, it seems that another JSA member will be introduced to "Legends of Tomorrow" as "The Flash" cast member John Wesley Shipp explains what his new character Jay Garrick/The Flash's connection with the team within the show.
The real Jay Garrick appeared in the season 2 finale of "The Flash" and it is revealed to be a doppelganger of Barry Allen/The Flash's (Grant Gustin) deceased father, Henry Allen.
Shipp told Variety that having Jay Garrick in the show could open big possibilities for "Legends of Tomorrow" since Jay has been a huge part of the Justice Society of America, not to mention one of its founding members. Shipp added that he is excited on how will things will go on knowing that JSA will be heavily featured in season 2 and how his presence in Barry Allen/The Flash's life could affect the outcome of season 3 with everyone knowing that he is his father's doppelganger from another Earth.
Two character descriptions were already announced to join "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 as fans speculated that they could be Nathan Heywood/Citizen Steel and Zinda Blake/Lady Blackhawk, while other characters such as Jonah Hex (Johnathon Schaech), Conner Hawke (Joseph David-Jones) and John Constantine (Matt Ryan) are also being speculated to return to season 2.
"Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will return in the fall of 2016.
