John Cena salutes the crowd at WWE SummerSlam 2015.

WWE superstar John Cena, who has been on a hiatus since January 2016 due to a shoulder injury, has been reported to be back sooner from his initially expected nine months recuperation period.

According to reports, Cena, who appeared at WrestleMania few months ago together with former wrestling superstars, has been itching to come back to the limelight of wrestling.  "'I can't wait to get in the ring," says Cena.

In an interview with Eric Goldman of IGN, John Cena declared his interest in coming back and being part of a new era of wrestling, wherein new faces are dominating the sports. John Cena via IGN stated that:

"I return May 30th, USA Network, Monday Night RAW. I've been ready for a while, but I can't just show up and fight, so my formal return is May 30th on USA network."

With Cena's declaration of an early return, it cannot be helped for wrestling enthusiasts to ask Cena regarding the similar move of Shane McMahon to return as well to wrestling entertainment. In response, Cena cited Vince McMahon's adage, "never say never."

The return of Shane McMahon and John Cena will surely invigorate the spirit of wrestling fans worldwide. Combining the proven skills of the veteran faces and the enthusiasm of new talents, World Wrestling Entertainment will inevitably rise beyond pure entertainment.

By going beyond entertainment, it would mean that the wrestling is in constant evolution even touching social issues, such as women empowerment. And such idea is not even new to the returning superstar John Cena, for he also highlighted that:

"You know, the WWE is constantly evolving and if they want to make the move, it seems like an obvious jump. WWE is really focused on empowering the women." Cena said via IGN.

The return of John Cena in this new era of wrestling is somehow unprecedented, especially that Roman Reigns is being poised as one of WWE's ultimate superstar. However, change of plan seemed to be at bay for the network has opened a door for stars from the past, thus making audiences more excited.

"Get your shovels ready! Cena's about to bury the New Era," commented user 504flyboi. And user aof4540 also added that, "Hell yeah! The Champ is back and ready to bury the Boo (Roman Reigns) and win the WWE title. Best news ever!"

The return of a former champion means more challenge and different level of excitement to be expected. And a higher standard of performance coming from relatively new faces like Big Cass and Enzo Amore, who has been spotted by Cena as superstar material.
