Katy Perry announces her Shanghai concert over Sina Weibo.

Pop superstar Katy Perry has her Chinese fans excited once more as she promotes her world-tour stop in Shanghai in April over her Twitter-like microblog account in Sina Weibo.

On Thursday, the award-winning singer promoted her "Prismatic World Tour" via a video of herself posted over Sina Weibo.

"Ni hao, Shanghai! It's Katy Perry, and I'm so excited to bring the Prismatic World Tour to Shanghai on April 21. I will see you there," she exclaimed.

Originally known as Katheryn Elizabeth "Katy" Hudson, the 30-year-old American singer-songwriter would be singing her greatest hits at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai.

The concert, which is organized by entertainment firm AEG China, is the third concert tour to promote her fourth platinum studio album, "Prism," which was released in 2013.

Its first stop, which was held at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast in Northern Ireland on May 7, 2014, is just the start of what is now a widely successful show.

The tour has been deemed the singer's most successful world tour and dubbed as second highest-grossing concert led by a female artist in North America in 2014.

Aside from that, it was also crowned as the fourth best-selling concert all over the world as well as the best-selling event led by a solo female artist in 2014, with gross earnings of $153 million from over 1.4 million attendees.

Aside from Shanghai, Katy Perry would also be visiting other Asian cities such as Jakarta, Tokyo, Singapore, Manila and Bangkok from April until May.
