Lana and Rusev are finally tying the knot and their wedding date is finally revealed. They are one of many real-life couples in the WWE and their wedding ceremony will be filmed for the sixth season of "Total Divas."
According to Cageside Seats, Lana and Rusev will get married on September 2 but no other details are known at this point. The two got engaged at the wrong time on October 2015 as they were in the middle of a storyline with Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae.
It was one of the worst stories on WWE television last year and the newly-engaged couple took a lot of heat for it. The storyline was dropped altogether after a disastrous four months. Lana went on hiatus while Rusev was relegated to the midcard.
The two started as on-screen partners with Lana acting as Rusev's valet in NXT. Both were called up to the main roster and the time they spent together led to a real-life relationship.
It is not the only relationship that was formed in the wrestling business. They join the long list of superstars getting together and some of the current couples in the WWE are John Cena and Nikki Bella, Dean Ambrose and Renee Young, Zack Ryder and Emma, Alberto Del Rio and Paige, The Miz and Maryse, and Jimmy Uso and Naomi.
According to Sportskeeda, Land and Rusev's wedding will not be the first matrimony ceremony to be shown on "Total Divas." The wedding of Natalya and Tyson Kidd was featured in 2013 while the Daniel Bryan-Brie Bella nuptial was shown a year later.
Things are certainly looking up for both superstars after the heat they got from their engagement and breaking kayfabe. Lana is still looked as a future top wrestler in the women's division and she is training at the WWE Performance Center.
The Ravishing Russian is also set to star in her first WWE Studios film alongside Hall of Famer Adam Copeland, more commonly known as Edge. On the other hand, Rusev is in his second reign as the United States champion after defeating Kalisto at "Extreme Rules."
The Bulgarian Brute just started a feud with Titus O'Neill for the US title. It is expected that the two superstars will fight for the championship at the "Money in the Bank" pay-per-view on June 19 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
