Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is the rumored follow up phablet to Galaxy Note 5.

The South Korean tech giant, Samsung, might unveil its new Galaxy Note 7 in Q3 2016. Previously, there were rumors that the manufacturer would release Galaxy Note 6 in August. However, latest news from reputable tipster Evan Blass suggest that the upcoming phablet would be called Galaxy Note 7 as opposed to Galaxy Note 6.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics (SEMCO) is working on dual camera lens system, according to Pocket Lint. The Galaxy Note 7 will be the first high-end device to receive dual camera.

The same publication revealed that the Note 7 would be available in two models running on the Exynos 8890 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 SoC. Furthermore, the phablet will come with 256 GB internal storage capacity and 6 GB of RAM to enhance its performance. Evidently, Samsung has configured the hardware to give superb performance.

The Galaxy Note 7 will also feature a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display with 2560 by 1440 resolution. This display does not come as a surprise since Samsung already incorporated the always-on display technology in Galaxy S7. The device might also sport the Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

The upcoming phablet will have the same design as the previous Galaxy S and Note flagships, with an inclusion of glass front and rear as well as strong metal frame. It is likely that the device will be curvier at the back just like the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. These two smartphones have managed to impress many people with their all-round performance and design, according to XDA Developers.

It is almost official that the upcoming Note 7 will sport an IP68 certification. As a result, the phablet will be waterproof up to 30 minutes under 1.5m water, in addition to being dustproof.

With regard to the camera, reports have it that the Note 7 will possible come with a 12-megapixel Super OIS Plus camera. Other rumors point towards a 20MP camera, although it seems the manufacturer will opt for the former, just as is the case with Galaxy S7.

The Galaxy Note 5 came with a 3000mAh battery. With increasing need for upgrades, the Note 7 will have a bigger battery of up to 4000mAh.

It is possible to see an S-Pen Stylus, heart rate scanner, fingerprint scanner, and iris scanner coming to the Note 7. While it is not official, Blass suggests that Galaxy Note 7 will hit the shelves in August 2016.
