Powerhouse squad Colombia (1-0-0, 3 points) will try to keep the top spot of the Group A table as it squares off with dark horse team Paraguay (0-0-1, 1 point) on June 7, Tuesday at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena for a 2016 Copa América Centenario group stage encounter.

Colombia got off to a resounding start in the tournament after they thrashed the challenge of host team United States, 2-0, at the at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara last Friday, ESPN reported.

AC Milan center back Cristian Zapata netted the opening goal right at the eighth minute of the contest as manager José Pékerman's boys took advantage of a formation miscue by USMNT off a standard corner kick play.

Real Madrid star James Rodriguez showed the crowd why he is one of the world's best players by sinking a penalty kick at the 42nd minute to lift his squad up, 2-0, at the break.

Both teams then went scoreless in the second half but is still enough for Los Cafeteros to claim all the three points and the victory.

The win came with a price, though, as Rodriguez suffered a shoulder injury after tripping over USA captain Michael Bradley at the 73rd minute. It is not immediately known whether he would miss their next game.

Meanwhile, Paraguay forced a 0-0 draw with CONCACAF powerhouse Costa Rica last Saturday at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, via Goal.

The game was not the best performance for the two teams as both squads had a hard-time executing in both the offensive and defensive ends of the pitch.

Los Guaraníes striker Jorge Benitez had the best chance early on in the game, but his close range shot was uncharacteristically wide, indicating the upcoming poor play from both sides.

Still, it was a decent result for head coach Ramón Díaz's men as they were the underdogs going into the match against Los Ticos.

They remain as underdogs in this meeting versus La Tricolor, but anything could happen with Benitez and Dario Lezcano leading the charge for La Albirroja.

The predicted result is another 2-0 victory for Colombia.

Colombia starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Ospina; Arias, Zapata, Murillo, Diaz; Perez, Torres; Cuadrado, Rodriguez, Cardona; Bacca

Paraguay starting lineup (4-2-2-2 formation): Villar; Valdez, Gomez, da Silva, Samudio; Ortiz, Piris; Gonzalez, Romero; Lezcano, Benitez
