Detailed Hilt of Heartsbane, Valyrian steel sword

After the sixth episode of "Game of thrones" season 6 was aired, some detailed photos of the Valyrian magical sword were spreading in the online news sites. In the sixth episode, the ancestral Valyrian sword was first seen placed on an antler holder under the protection of Sam's father in the House Tarly.

In the "Game of Thrones," the Valyrian sword in the House Tarly is called Heartsbane that was in the possession of the Tarly family for 500 years. It's amazing how HBO poured great passion in making the sword to reality. In the photos shared by the HBO's makinggameofthrones blog site, clear details were shown in the sword's hilt and blades.

Talking about the Valyrian's steel blade, the appearance looks pretty much the same as the real world's Damascus steel where a distinct wavy pattern in the surface of the blade is made during the forging process. In the story of "Game of Thrones," the Valyrian steel was forged with the use of dragonflame and magic. This is one of the only two known material that can kill the white walkers aside from dragon glass.

On its hilt, the sigil of House Tarly was molded in the middle where two huntsmen where facing the opposite sides with a bow and arrow already aimed ready to release. What's more interesting is that the production team of "Game of Thrones" has never failed to put more details in the hilt. On the each direction of the huntsmen with a bow and arrow shows their targets.

The targets are the sigils of great families in Westeros. According to Nerdist, in the left side shows the sigil of House Baratheon which is a stag and the sigil of House Lannister which is a lion. On the right side shows the sigil of House Stark which is a direwolf but the fourth sigil can hardly be identified but one thing is for sure is it belongs to one of the great families in the seven Kingdoms.

In the past seasons of the show, there were only a few Valyrian steel swords introduced. One was Ned Stark's sword called Ice. After Ned was executed, Tywin Lannister melted Ned's sword and made two new swords out of it which were later named Widow's wail (currently with Tommen Baratheon) and Oathkeeper (currently with Brienne of Tarth). Another one is the sword wielded by Jon Snow given by Jeor Mormont called Longclaw and the recently mentioned is the Heartsbane which is now with Sam.
