In his more than a decade in show business, “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki had four "bromance" partners so far. They are Park Bo Gum in their new Domino’s Pizza commercial, Yoo Ah-in, Lee Kwang Soo and Jin Goo.
The latest Domini's Pizza print had Song Joong-ki and Park Bo Gum in a buddy-buddy embrace with their cheesiest smile while holding a slice of pizza each. For the latest photo of the pizza brand, released on Tuesday, the two elevate their friendship to a “bromance” with Soong Joong-ki feeding Park Bo Gum a slice of pizza like lovers usually do.
With the two handsome actors dressed in identical black suit, white shirt and bow tie, it looks like an advertisement for a same-sex wedding with a pizza instead of a cake used for the “feeding your partner” portion of wedding banquets.
The photo is a new summer TV commercial for the pizza delivery company Domino’s. The tender look of the two actors, done through improvisational acting, would soon be seen by TV viewers when the commercial is shown this June.
Domino’s admittedly provided the “bromance” spin to the commercial as Song Joong-ki and Park Bo Gum makes pizza history in South Korea by being the first male pair to endorse Domino’s. Thus, the invitation from the company is “Please feel free to enjoy a nice walk with the two men to be the new faces of Domino’s Pizza in the future.”
Song Joong-ki, who was known before for his soft features, was transformed both by his two-year compulsory military service and his role as Army Captain Yoo Si Jin in “Descendants of the Sun” that doing a “bromance” pictorial only shows his security in his new-found masculinity. In fact, he was even the endorser of a lipstick brand.
