"1Password for Teams," an enterprise-focused version of AgileBits' "1Password Families" popular password management app, is launched after seven months of beta testing.
Available to Android, Mac and iOS, 1Password allows users to share documents, secure passwords and use other data with a strong encryption that makes password sending through email or message more secure. It can also ensure that an entire team will be safe from phishing scams since there will only be one administrator to a group of users.
The administrator of the team on the Admin Console can create password vaults and assign every member to access it, restore the password and grant temporary access to guests. The admin can also create the password vault in "Read-only" status and could allow team members to login without the need of revealing the password.
1Password also promises a security alert feature called Watchtower, a master password creator and other anti-phishing software. Users can also find any weak and reused passwords so they can change it proactively.
Like the 1Password for Families plan, the 1Password for Teams also has a subscription model with a standard subscription for $3.99 per user per month when billed annually and $4.99 for monthly billing. This includes unlimited access to 1Password's desktop and mobile apps, 1GB of storage per person, offline access, and a 30 day item history to help the users recover lost documents, Mac Rumors reported.
There is also a pro subscription that upgrades users to 5GB storage with an annual rate of $11.99 per user per month or $14.99 at a monthly rate. It also has an unlimited item history recovery system, a priority email support from AgileBits, and other features.
Since it is newly launched, the company is offering a special launch promotion for users who will subscribe by July 31 wherein the pro features will be available for the price of the Standard plan.
Meanwhile, 1Password can also be made available for Windows in August and it is currently in beta testing for Windows 7, 8, and 10. The 1Password 6 Windows will be supporting 1Password Teams and Families that will allow the user to make and share vaults with a group.
1Password 6 will be featuring a new high-DPI design, multiple and handy vaults, basic support for browser extensions, Unicode support to allow translation into Russian, Chinese, and other languages, import existing data from OPVault or AgileKeychain formats (read-only), and large type to easily view passwords, Windows Central reported.
