It was not surprising to learn that Korean actor Yoo Ah In, who bagged the Best Actor award at the 52nd Baeksang Art Awards on Saturday, shared his victory with fellow nominee Song Joong-ki. After all, the star of “Six Flying Dragons” and the lead actor of “Descendants of the Sun” were once a bromance couple.

In his acceptance speech, Yoo Ah In said, “Today, watching the Baeksang stage from the start, seating myself next to Song Song couple, I wanted to go with them together. It is quite embarrassing for me to receive this award,” quoted IBTimes.

The two actors starred in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” and won the Best Couple Award at the 2010 KBS Drama Awards. They played roommates and upperclassmen, with Song Joong-ki portraying the role of Gu Yong-ha and Yoo Ah In the role of Moon Jae-shin. The two characters are students at the university where Kim Yoon-hee, played by Park Min-young, disguised herself as her brother to make ends meet for their family.

Song Joong-ki, however, has a new bromance partner – Park Bo Gum – who stars with the 30-year-old actor in the upcoming summer TV commercial for Domino’s Pizza.

“Six Flying Dragons” is a 50-episode Hallyu which aired over SBS from Oct. 5, 2015 through March 22, 2016. The story revolves around the ideological and political conflict between Prince Yi Bang-won and Jeong Do-jeon. The latter favored a country ruled by ministers, while the former wanted absolute power.

In his acceptance speech, Soo Ah In shared that he witnessed so many changes and growth in himself while shooting “Six Flying Dragons.” He recalled that when he received the script book for the Hallyu and read the lines, he said to himself, “How could the writers give me this great lines? How could they drive me into such a moment?” Those thoughts took him to heaven and hell, the actor said.
