“GTA 6” is Rockstar Games' rumored sequel to GTA 5 that will likely be released for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Although Rockstar games released "GTA V" three years ago, fans are already clamoring for the next installment in the "GTA" franchise. There are speculations that the sixth installment will come out in 2018.

"GTA 6" will come out in 2018 based on the game developer's five-year-gap trend of releasing its games, according to Game N Guide. As a reminder, the company released "GTA 4" in 2008, before following it up with "GTA 5" in 2013.

Other rumors have it that the next installment in the "GTA" franchise will release by the time the next generation of the Xbox and PlayStation consoles are revealed. However, fans should not be excited just yet since even the next iterations for the consoles are not yet announced.

Currently, avid fans are holding onto speculations that Rockstar Games will finally make an announcement about "GTA 6" during the looming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, which is scheduled for June 14-16. The game developer intends to attend, so it is likely for them to unveil their plans for the title by 2017.

Apart from the release date, other rumors are focusing on the game's maps. With regard to maps, speculations have it that the upcoming installment from Rockstar will feature the biggest map ever. "GTA 6" will likely bring together all maps from previous titles.

The coastal region alongside Boston is the strongest point for "Grand Theft Auto 6," according to GTA5Cheats. Boston's landscape, skyscrapers, greenery, slums, and suburbs will give the city the expected mix of excitement.

Furthermore, there are preserved historical locations in Boston that will make the map competitive with London setting for "GTA 6." However, amid all the good points, the major hurdle with Boston is that the city may be too crime free for the upcoming installment.

In reality, it is good news that criminal backdrop in Boston has changed considerably over time. In case "GTA 6" is set in Boston, the city's characteristic crimes and violence may be compromised to make the game appear more realistic. For now, the map for the much-awaited game is yet to be finalized and some rumors indicate that the game developer, Rockstar, may even take "GTA 6" out of the United States - possibly to Tokyo, London, or Bogota.
