Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Asus ZenFone Max, ZenFone 2 Laser receiving Android Marshmallow update

Asus ZenFone Max and Asus ZenFone 2 Laser have started getting the Android Marshmallow update. In addition, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is currently receiving the Android Marshmallow update.

Asus has said that some of its handsets will be treated with the Android Marshmallow update. At present, ZenFone Max, 5.5-inch ZenFone 2 Laser and 5-inch ZenFone 2 Laser are getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

Asus ZenFone Max, which was released in August last year, features a 5.50-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution.

The Asus smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset and it comes with 2GB of RAM. Asus ZenFone Max has 16GB of internal storage that users can expand to 64GB via a microSD card slot. Furthermore, the device features a 13-megapixel primary camera on the back and a 5 MP front shooter.

The ZenFone Max has a 5000mAh non removable battery. The Asus smartphone weighs 202 grams.
According to several reports, Asus ZenFone 2, Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition, Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe, Asus ZenFone Selfie, Asus ZenFone Zoom and Asus PadFone S will also get the Android Marshmallow update in the coming months.

Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge owners on Verizon are currently receiving the newest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update.

Verizon's rollout comes only three weeks after Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update first reached unlocked Galaxy Note Edge devices in Europe. The update comes with version number VRU2CPD1.

Android Marshmallow for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge includes features such as Android's new app permissions system, Google Now on Tap that gives users instant access to useful information anywhere and Doze that greatly enhances battery life.

In addition, it brings some enhancements to TouchWiz that should improve stability as well as performance.

The Galaxy Note Edge was released in September 2014 and features a 5.60-inch touchscreen display, Digital Trends reported. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset and has 32GB of internal storage. Furthermore, the device has 3GB of RAM.

The Galaxy Note Edge sports a 16 MP primary camera on the back and a 3.7 MP front shooter for selfies. The Samsung device packs a 3000mAh removable battery, weighs 174 grams and measures 151.30mm x 82.40mm x 8.30mm.
