Copa América Centenario 2016: Mexico vs Venezuela, Preview, Prediction & Predicted Lineup

Mexico striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez.

Last year's CONCACAF Gold Cup and CONCACAF Cup winners Mexico (2-0-0, 6 points) will look to sweep the Group C competitions of the 2016 Copa América Centenario as they face surprise undefeated team Venezuela (2-0-0, 6 points) in their final group stage assignment on June 13, Monday at the NRG Stadium in Houston.

Mexico convincingly won its first two Copa America games this summer with the latest one a 2-0 blanking of FIFA 46th-ranked national team Jamaica at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Thursday, as per SkySports.

As expected, El Tri was led by their two premier goalscorers, Bayer Leverkusen's Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Club America's Oribe Peralta, during the match as the two players each scored a goal for head coach Juan Carlos Osorio's side.

Bayer striker Hernandez netted the opening goal at the 18th minute of the contest while Las Águilas forward Peralta sealed the win nine minutes before the full time mark to give the Mexicans their second consecutive two-point victory, following their 3-1 conquest of a Luis Suárez -less Uruguay eleven during their opener.

With the win, Mexico advanced to the quarterfinals of the tourney, which will begin on June 16.

Meanwhile, Venezuela pulled off an upset over Uruguay, 1-0, in the second round of the group stage as Barcelona striker Suárez continues to be absent for Los Charrúas, ESPN reported.

West Bromwich Albion striker Salomón Rondón netted the winning goal for manager Rafael Dudamel's side as they stunningly advanced to the last-eight round of competitions.

Ranked 77th in the world by FIFA, La Vinotinto also upset Jamaica in the opening round, 1-0, to remain unbeaten in the tournament.

It is important for both Mexico and Venezuela to still win this last game so that they can avoid an early matchup with world no. 1 Argentina in the knockout stage. The winner will likely face Chile, last year's Copa America champions, who are currently at the second spot of the Group D standings.

The predicted result is another 2-0 rout for Mexico.

Mexico starting lineup (4-3-3 formation): Ochoa; Duenas, Araujo, Y. Corona, Moreno; Herrera, Marquez, Layun; Jimenez, Hernandez, J. Corona

Venezuela starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Hernandez; Rosales, Angel, Vizcarrondo, Feltscher; Guerra, Rincon, Figuera, Penaranda; Rondón, Martinez
