"Red Dead Redemption 2" release date has been looked forward to by most gamers since the last release of "Red Dead Redemption" back in 2010. With the upcoming E3 event happening on June 14 to 16, it will most probably that the release date and other game details will be announced during the game convention. But for now, outlined in this article are some of the most relevant and significant information regarding the highly anticipated game.
It can be remembered that "Red Dead" game series has been a phenomenal success, with the game developer boasting over 13 million players worldwide. In line with its success, clamor for a third installment has been voiced out in the past years. And this year, it seems like gamers' demands are being heard, for it is being speculated that Rockstar Games has already been developing installment of the series dubbed as "Red Dead Redemption 2," according to Expert Reviews.
This particular news of Rockstar developing a series for the franchise is not something new, for back in 2012, the game developer already hinted its interest for a new game in the series following the "Red Dead" game series success. And release date and official series title have been highly sought by fans ever since.
As an additional implicit proof of the upcoming game installment, a previous similar declaration was likewise made by Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick. Back in May 2014, Take-Two revealed that Red Dead will be a permanent franchise for consumers, and in a way igniting another set of speculation for a third "Red Dead" series installment.
"It seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise," he said, adding "the risk of just [releasing more games] is that you end up just bulking up your release schedule and that isn't really what consumers want. Consumers want better, not more." PC Advisor quoted Zelnick as saying.
Apart from previous hints and declaration made by the people behind the game development, a map photo that circulated online sparked another set of speculations relating to a possible announcement and release of the game this year.
Back in April 2016, an image of an alleged "RDR 2" map appeared online. Though it was quickly removed, a source told TechRadar that the map is a real deal, and a new "Red Dead" game is being developed packed with larger maps and new adventures.
Though no official confirmation has been released by game publisher and developers, Rockstar and Take-Two, regarding the game development and "Red Dead Redemption 2" release date, it has been assumed that this year would be the release date of the said game. The reason behind this strong assumption, apart from the ones outlined above, is based on the release date pattern of "Red Dead" that is around six years apart, needless to say that 2016 would be the sixth year since "Red Dead Redemption" was released back in 2010.
But still, though previous announcements and release pattern are pointing to 2016 as the possible release date for the next installment of the said game, it would still be better to keep hopes down to avoid frustration. It would be better to await the game developer's announcement in the E3 event tomorrow for more reasonable and factual basis.
