Ezra Miller stars as Barry Allen/The Flash in his solo film and the Justice League live-action film.

Fans of "The Flash" TV show are speculating on the possible showdown between the superhero and the villain Captain Cold in the third season of the TV series. Other possible villains are also being considered in "The Flash" Season 3, as revealed by the lead actor of the show.

Grant Gustin, the actor who plays the title role, will be temporarily away from TV-related projects until the DC superhero TV series is rebooted for its third run starting this autumn season.

Various speculations from fans and entertainment journalists have surfaced regarding the most probable main antagonist in the new season. Those who are familiar with the original comics series may speculate based on the traditional villains; however, the speculations could easily be thrown off-course as TV creative team of script writers and directors have their own ideas.

According to DC Entertainment, Gustin revealed some of the storyline details of "The Flash" Season 3 during an interview. According to him, the villains that The Flash could encounter include a Big Bad that is not a metahuman.

Even the lead actor of the show is not aware as to who will be the main enemy of his character in "The Flash" Season 3; however, there is a possibility that it may really turn out to be someone who does not have any supernatural powers.

According to Moviepilot blog, the most likely non-metahuman villain that The Flash could encounter in "The Flash" Season 3 would be Captain Cold. He is a normal human who is expert in cryonics and has a gun that could freeze objects to absolute zero.

Meanwhile, "The Flash" Season 2 finale episode provided a lot of possibilities for Season 3. It was the episode wherein the Flash traveled back in time to save his mother from being killed by the Reverse-Flash.

This is also the premise of the comic book "Flashpoint," in which, the Flash alters the current timeline but inadvertently changed his superhero status. The comic book could inspire the episodes of "The Flash" Season 3.

"The Flash" Season 3 is expected to premiere later this year.
