Reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight champion Michael Bisping will not back down from any opponent. Knowing that Georges St-Pierre's return is highly likely, Bisping declared that he is ready to face GSP in his next fight.
Bisping, who has a 29-7 mixed martial arts record, won the middleweight title via a first-round knockout victory over Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 on June 4. The 37-year-old is being linked to several potential opponents, but he likes the idea of facing St-Pierre. Bisping believes he has all the tools to send GSP back to retirement.
"I would certainly be open to sending Georges St-Pierre back to a movie set because that would be a fight I would definitely win," Bisping told The MMA Hour. "If Georges St-Pierre is listening, any time you fancy it, just be a man and sign on the dotted line and your return will be short-lived."
St-Pierre has not fought since his split decision win over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167 in November 2013. However, the Canadian MMA superstar has been training for a potential comeback fight. In fact, boxing coach Freddie Roach revealed that GSP will start his training camp soon, the Daily Star reported.
Roach said he is not expecting a decision from St-Pierre anytime soon. The Hall of Fame trainer added that he has already worked out with St-Pierre, but the 35-year-old wants to make sure he still has the heart to compete on a high level before committing to a comeback fight.
Bisping open to rematches with Rockhold, Dan Henderson
Meanwhile, if the fight against St-Pierre will not materialize, Bisping has other options for his first title defense. The English mixed martial artists declared that he is also open to facing Rockhold or Dan Henderson again.
Bisping said during the interview that he will not hesitate to face Rockhold in a rematch. However, the reigning UFC middleweight champion sounded more interested in facing Henderson, who called him out after his win over Rockhold.
Bisping said that he is also confident fans will love the rematch between him and Henderson. Bisping is aching to square off with Henderson to avenge his second-round knockout loss at UFC 100. Watch Bisping's knockout loss to Henderson below.
