Michonne is a fictional character from the comic book series The Walking Dead and is portrayed by Danai Gurira in the television series of the same name.

A whole new level of another gore-and-blood event and fresh new faces will be arriving at a post-apocalyptic world in time for AMC's "The Walking Dead" Season 7. The network just revealed additional details such as the series' official premiere date and new cast members.

On June 13, Monday, a fan-made Daryl Dixon's account took to Twitter and shared that the immensely popular horror-serial drama finally returns in 118 days. It was accompanied by an image of the main cast - Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Dixon (Norman Reedus), Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) - as they cry out in pain, which seemingly hints an upcoming death.

Although it is no news that Glenn may be the first one to be struck by Negan's Lucille if the upcoming season will stay true to its comic counterpart, most recent speculations are rife that Michonne (Danai Gurira) was the one who died from the villain's bat beating and not Daryl or Glenn.

The speculations started when Popsugar claimed that the first-person POV that was used in the Season 6 finale, which seemingly showed several indications as to which character will experience an ill fate. It is said that Negan will reportedly kill Michonne in order to fuel more wrath and inflict more pain on Rick and his group.

Furthermore, Yeun previously sheds some light on the situation and hinted that all may not be as it seems. The 32-year-old Korean-American actor has reassured fans that "The Walking Dead" team will not necessarily do what is in the comics and pointed out the reasonable gap between the way the story is told in the comics and on the small screen.

In a separate interview with Variety, Reedus shared that he is not in favor of Daryl dying either, stating that he will be in the trenches battling along with all the fans that have supported him if that happens. He then teases everyone that the much-awaited Season 7 is definitely worth the wait.

"I will be passing out matches if that happens - I will be starting the riot. You know what, I'm very appreciative," Reedus added. "I put a lot of work into this character for a long time, and I really like my job, and I like all the people I work with an awful lot, and I like all those fans that have my back, and I have their back, and I'm trying to do a good job for them as well. So it's one big family that I'm proud to be part of."

Meanwhile, actor Xander Berkeley has recently been confirmed to make an appearance in Season 7. In the previous season, Berkeley made his first appearance as the leader of the Hilltop community named Gregory. While his group became an ally to Rick and the rest of Alexandria survivors, it remains indistinct whether he will remain as a friend or turns into an adversary in the upcoming season.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 is reported to be already in its post-production with an intended premiere date on Oct. 9. Stay tuned for more updates as they arrive. Here is a short video clip of "The Walking Dead" Season 6 finale:
