Wilmer Valderrama speaks on "OnAir with Ryan Seacrest."

It was announced that "That 70's Show" Wilmer Valderrama will join the cast of "NCIS" season 14 as series regular.

Valderrama's character has not been named yet, but TV Line reported that he will be playing an NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) field agent who was sent to a deep cover assignment a few years back, but was never seen again. Most do not even know if he's still alive.

Now, he is coming back.

"Wilmer Valderrama will be able to flex his dramatic, physical and comedic talents in this classic NCIS role," executive producer Gary Glasberg said in a statement. "Fans are going to see him like they've never seen him before. This is going to be fun. We're thrilled he's coming aboard."

Valderrama is best known for his role as Fez in "That 70's Show," where big-time stars Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis also originated. He went on to score roles in several television series, such as "Grey's Anatomy," "Minority Report" and "From Dusk Till Dawn."

However, viewers are curious if he is Michael Weatherly's replacement as his character, Tony DiNozzo, left a spot in the team. Described as unpredictable yet charismatic loose cannon, fans will see if he'll be joining the team or not in the upcoming "NCIS" season 14.

The season 13 finale saw Michael Weatherly leave his role Tony DiNozzo for 13 years as his character left for Israel in search for the truth. He previously learned that Ziva (Cote de Pablo) was killed in an explosion at her family's farmhouse, but their daughter Tali survived, Inquistr reported.

Now, it is being speculated season 14 will uncover the truth about Ziva through Tali, who is being rumored to bask in the spotlight for some time in the next season. There are a lot of loose ends regarding Ziva and Tony and bringing Tali in might be a way to tie those ends, as per the reports.

Although it is highly unlikely that Pablo and Weatherly are coming back to the series, fans hope that their presence can still be felt through their daughter.

"NCIS" season 14 is expected to come back in the Fall. A season 15 has already been announced.
