New MacBook Pro, Air 2016 updates: MacBook Pro, Air models to have price adjustments, spec revamp or new hardware

If reports are anything to go by, Apple will launch MacBook Air 2016 this year.

Previous reports suggested that the 2016 MacBook Air will be discontinued as Cupertino-based company concentrates on the 2016 MacBook Pro. However, according to recent reports, the tech company Apple will launch MacBook Air 2016 this year.

There are speculations that the software giant will hold separate event for it, probably alongside the 2016 MacBook Pro. The event can be held before August, the month the new MacBook Air will be out at retailer shelves.

Several reports indicate that the upcoming MacBook Air will have minimal improvements. However, the new MacBook Air will take on a refreshed aesthetic with a new screen size. Rumor has it that a 15-inch version will be introduced that will replace the 11-inch MacBook Air.

Furthermore, it is believed that the MacBook Pro 2016 will release by the end of this year. According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the upcoming MacBook Pro will be launched between September to December.

He said that the new MacBook Pro 2016 will come in 15- and 13-inch variations. According to a 9to5 Mac report, the MacBook Pro 2016 will have an OLED display touch bar above the keyboard and Touch ID support.

Many reports suggest that there are four USB-C ports and a Thunderbolt 3 in the upcoming device. Macrumors reported that the forthcoming laptop will house an improved Intel Skylake chipset with AMD's 400-series Polaris graphics chips.

The tech giant is also preparing changes to the MacBook lineup that may debut over the coming weeks. The current MacBook Pro and Air models may have price adjustments, a spec revamp or a new hardware.

Apple has not revealed any information about it. It is said that the present MacBook families can see some adjustment by the end of June, even if it is only in the form of aggressive pricing.

Rumors are also doing the rounds that the 15- and 13-inch MacBook Pro revamps could release at separate times. The company did that back in 2012, when the MacBook Pro gained a slimmer design - the 15-inch MacBook Pro released first at Worldwide Developers Conference, and the 13-inch MacBook Pro released in October.
