Georges St-Pierre confirms UFC comeback and his opponent is set to be named soon.

One of UFC's seasoned fighters, Georges St-Pierre is ready to make his return in the octagon and the promotion is currently looking for an opponent to pit him against. There is a possibility that he may land a match against Rory MacDonald or Michael Bisping.

St-Pierre last fought against Johnny Hendricks on Nov. 16, 2013, which he won via split decision and was successful in defending his UFC Welterweight belt. It is his goal to regain the title he surrendered after declaring he will take a time off the sport and according to the Canadian MMA fighter, he went through training camp and he used it as his gauge if he is fit to compete once again.

"I did a training camp to see where I'm at because I was training since being in shape and being in fighting shape is something different," St-Pierre told The MMA Hour. However, he only engaged in sparring matches and he did not conduct a proper match during the course of the training camp. Nevertheless, he felt that his body and mind are ready for a full-contact competition once again.

He further added that negotiations of his potential return have been ongoing for quite a while now. They almost set him up in a fight against MacDonald, who currently stands at the second spot in the division.

"I had little things that were bothering me physically, [but] I got over it and I did my training camp and I'm back," St-Pierre said. He added that there were simply lots of things going on in his division and once they get a better picture of where they stand, they will finally decide if they should sign a contract.

Although a fight against champion Robbie Lawler may not be happening soon, other fighters who are fit to fight St-Pierre are Stephen Thompson and Tyron Woodley, who stand at first and third, respectively per UFC Rankings.

Meanwhile, St-Pierre has made it known who he wants to fight first in his UFC return. The Canadian MMA artist immediately wants to get a shot against recently crowned champion Bisping, MMA Fighting reported.

Other prominent names that also share history with the Canadian are Carlos Condit and Johnny Hendricks. The UFC may also pit him against other top 10 contenders in Rick Story, Matt Brown and Neil Magny to name a few. Here is the interview with St-Pierre.
