NBA rumors are swirling on the potential signing of Dirk Nowitzki to Golden State Warriors after it was being speculated that the 38-year-old Dallas Mavericks franchise player wants to achieve another NBA title before his retirement.

It can be remembered that Nowitzki opted out his contract with the Mavs listing him as a free agent the start of July 1. And this particular move of the 13-time NBA All-star ignited series of speculations, especially after the GWS management confirmed their interest for the veteran player.

"We will be very aggressive. Very, very aggressive," Mercury News quoted one GWS executive saying.

The rumors of the Golden State acquiring the service of Nowitzki started when many NBA fans and experts queried regarding the possible next steps of the former champion team for the upcoming 2016-2017 NBA season. After their historical defeat against the Cleveland Cavaliers, many NBA enthusiast, and loyal GWS fans were asking on what the management would do to recapture the coveted NBA title and reaffirm their dominance in the league.

As part of the rumoured team preparation, the name of Kevin Durant surfaced as one of the potential star players to bolster the roster of GWS. However, Durant repeatedly emphasized in previous interviews his loyalty with Oklahoma City Thunder, thus brewing uncertainty of Warriors acquisition of his service.

To further the rumor of player upgrade, the name of Nowitzki was immediately connected to GWS just days after his free agency status was made public by ESPN in their report. The idea of Nowitzki moving to Golden State immediately excited "Dub Nation," for they know that the presence of a veteran and talented front court player could profoundly improve the game of the GWS, a team mostly consisted of relatively young players.

If NBA rumors are indeed true and if Nowitzki would indeed sign with a team like GWS, then the next NBA season will definitely be more exciting, knowing the potential contribution of another shooter with a towering dominance as a both in the inside and outside position.  But still chances of Dirk finishing his career with the Mavs is still high, especially after its team owner Mark Cuban affirmed the idea of Dirk Nowitzki as a possible Mavericks head coach, according to ESPN.
