Taron Egerton for 20th Century Fox’s "Kingsman: The Secret Service"

Taron Egerton is shirtless, ripped, and wet, in the new TV spot promo trailer for 20th Century Fox's "Kingsman: The Secret Service," which is scheduled for release to theaters on Jan. 29 in the United Kingdom and on Feb. 13 in the United States. The 25-year-old is seen in the clip stepping out among his fellow spy recruits at the super-secret government agency.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jane Goldman, the upcoming action thriller is based on the 2012 comic book series "The Secret Service" created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons about a veteran super-spy who recruits his young nephew to the secret service. The 'Kingsman' in the film's title refers to the name of the Savile Row menswear shop that serves as HQ for The Secret Service, an organization where spies are required to be always impeccably dressed.

Vaughn's big-screen adaptation basically sticks to the comic book story line. Minor deviations from the source material include changing the names of the veteran secret agent from Jack London to Harry Hart and his young recruit from Gary London to Gary "Eggsy" Unwin. Also, the Gary in the comics is a nephew of the veteran spy whereas the Gary in the movie version is described as "an unrefined but promising street kid."

According to the studio's synopsis, just as Gary and his fellow recruits are being groomed to become new members of the Secret Service, a global threat emerges because of the mad scheme of a twisted tech genius named Valentine to save the human race from the devastation being caused by climate change.

"Kingsman: The Secret Service" stars newcomer Egerton as Gary "Eggsy" Unwin, along with Colin Firth as Harry Hart, Samuel L. Jackson as Richmond Valentine, Michael Caine as Kingsman head Arthur, Sofia Boutella as Valentine's assistant Gazelle, Jack Davenport as Lancelot, Sophie Cookson as Roxy, Mark Strong as Merlin, Mark Hamill as Professor James Arnold, Samantha Womack as Michelle, Richard Brake as The Interrogator, Hanna Halstrom as the Scandinavian Princess, and Bjorn Floberg as the Scandinavian PM.

According to Express, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Sir Elton John and Adele may also be seen in cameos for the film.
