"Mass Effect 4" fans may have something else to look forward to apart from the upcoming release of "Mass Effect Andromeda." Four novels about the "Mass Effect" universe will soon be published, which will provide the answers to some of the mysteries in the game's storyline.
One of the game titles that many gamers have been looking forward to is the fourth installment to the popular "Mass Effect" franchise. However, "Mass Effect Andromeda" is said to feature a different storyline and game setting as compared to its previous titles. This may result in some fans having unanswered questions on the fate of beloved characters in the game's saga. Latest news indicates that an upcoming novel series that would be set in the game's universe will be able to address this concern, VG24/7 reported.
Titan Books has included four novels in its list of literary works to be published this year until 2018. The focus of the said "Mass Effect" novels will be on key characters of the game, according to the publisher. Titan Books also claims that the upcoming book series will be able to answer many of the mysteries and possible queries that fans may have about the events in the game series.
The publisher also described the four novels as prequels and sequels to the storyline of the "Mass Effect" game franchise. Titan Books even commented that it will form part of the Bioware game's whole saga. Author N. K. Jemisin has been slated to handle the first novel titled "Mass Effect Andromeda: Initiative." Avid fans of the game can look forward to the said novel's release in August.
Meanwhile, the other two novels in the four-part book series will be published in March and September 2017, respectively, while the last novel will be out in March 2018. "Mass Effect" Creative Director Mac Walters has also been identified to write the fourth novel, as stated in the same report.
In other news, game developer Bioware has unveiled the game's female version of the character Ryder at the E3 2016 convention. In an interview with Eurogamer, Bioware executive Aaryn Flynn explained how the times have changed where many games previously only featured iconic male characters. He commented that game developers have now moved beyond that and have given players the option to choose or create their own game characters.
"Mass Effect Andromeda" will hit video game shelves in 2017.
