Italian Serie A champions Juventus FC is rumored to be targeting Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez as the replacement for their former striker Alvaro Morata, who was recently bought back by Real Madrid after activating a clause in his contract.

Morata was acquired by Juve from the Bernabéu giants in July of 2014 for a transfer fee of €20 million and was signed to a five-year contract. However, the deal came with a buyback clause in favor of Los Blancos, who is said to be given the right to buy Morata back anytime they want to, but just within his first five years of stay in Turin.

In his so far two seasons with the Old Lady, the 23-year-old Spain international had been impressive with his play, scoring seven points in 34 appearances in the Italian top flight this season. Overall, he had netted 12 goals in 47 games in all competitions for Juve to this point.

Morata's remarkable form had attracted the attention of English Premier League sides Manchester United, Chelsea, and even Arsenal, which also prompted Real to buy him back from the Turin residents, as per Caught Offside.

It was initially speculated that Los Blancos is intending to sell him for a profit after buying him back for €30 million on June 21, but it seems like Real had a change of mind, slapping a price tag of €72 million on Morata, which makes him unreachable even for aforementioned English clubs.

Meanwhile, Juve is allegedly ready to move on as the club turns its attention to Alexis Sanchez, who is a newly-crowned Copa America Centenario champion with home country Chile.

The Daily Express indicated that Le Zebre is plotting an "audacious move" to snag the 27-year-old forward out of the Emirates Stadium and they will directly use the €30 million they earned from the Morata deal as their preliminary bid.

Sanchez had been sensational for club and country so far in his career, scoring 13 goals in 30 appearances in the Premier League last term while three goals in nine competitions for Chile this year.

Also for Chile, Sanchez is the current all-time leading scorer of the country in international play with 34 goals as well as becoming the second most-capped player behind team captain and goalkeeper Claudio Bravo of Barcelona with 100 appearances.
