A Samsung Galaxy S7 is seen during its worldwide unveiling on February 21, 2016 in Barcelona, Spain.

The third quarter of 2016 should see the last batch of Android flagships to unpack for the year with the duo of Google Nexus 2016 and Samsung Galaxy Note 7, formerly known as Note 6, leading the pack. But prior to their separate release dates, the LG Nexus 5X and Galaxy S7 - predecessors of the two devices, are put on sale that somehow hints rollout time could happen real soon.

Samsung's first flagship for 2016 becoming a little cheaper could be the precursor that the next big thing from the South Korean tech giant is unboxing in no time. Over at eBay, the international version of the Galaxy S7 is ready to ship out for free and for only $499, which is a significantly lower asking price as the premium Android device normally sells starting at $649.

Droid Life said that the unit on display is the unlocked 32GB edition with dual-SIM feature that permits users to connect with two separate networks simultaneously. The GS7 Duos, the report noted, is the ideal choice for frequent travelers. And having to save no less than $150 should seal the deal for would be buyers.

However, Android fans wanting to get the best bang for their bucks can for the LG-made Nexus 5X that is also on the eBay deal table. In the past weeks, the cheaper of the Nexus 2015 smartphones has been offered with price cuts but the latest promo appears to be the lowest for the Stock Android handset so far at $240. The outright savings on this, Droid Life said, amount to $160.

And coming out of the box is the 32GB variant of the Nexus 5X that is officially listed as a mid-range device but with arguably flagship specifications, bannered by the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chip with 2GB of RAM. The shooting combo is 12MP on rear and 5MP on front, which is nearly the same set up for most flagships these days - the Galaxy S7 including.

With the compelling deals on existing Android phones, speculations are even more fired up that the sequels are coming up. Likely first to break the scene is the Galaxy Note 7 or the follow up to Samsung's GS7. The device is rumored to unpack with feature upgrades that will kill the competition, headlined by the Snapdragon 821 chip with up to 6GB of RAM. The internal memory will reportedly start at 64GB with memory expansion of up to 256GB via the built-in microSD slot.

Touchdown for the device is believed set in the second week of August.

As for the Nexus 2016, Google's plans remain largely wrapped in mystery. Specs for the device codenamed Sailfish, made by HTC, have been leaked that suggested a more powerful replacement for the Nexus 5X but the launch time is still unknown.

Google was also reported planning for a more premium version of the HTC Nexus that is pegged for end of 2016 or December release date. The guess is the device will be the rumored Nexus 2016 from Huawei that resembles the Nexus 6P of last year but with bumped up specs.
