By the end of "Game of Thrones" Season 6, almost majority of fans believe the famous theory of R + L = J. However, nobody is sure what "J" exactly stands for. Now, a fan of the show from Dallas-Fort Worth claims to have found what J really stands for.
A Redditor named Claire Williams, who posts under the name sparkledavisjr, has come up with a new theory that reveal Jon Snow's actual birth name, according to Refinery 29. The theory makes use of lip-reading of the inaudible exchange of words that take place between Ned Stark and Lyanna, at the time of Jon Snow's birth.
The "Game of Thrones" already know by now that the character's name would have been "Jon Sand," based on his bastard status and the place of his birth. Secondly, Williams suggests that Lyanna has already named her baby before passing away.
The 33-year-old Web designer has proposed a theory on Reddit that at the time of Jon Snow's birth, Lyanna whispers to Ned Stark that "His name is Jaehaerys." Williams claims having watched the scene for over 50 times and pausing it at the right moment to check whether the words she whispers in her mouth matches those that Lyanna says.
"I've seen some comments from people who are deaf or hard of hearing suggesting that Lyanna is saying 'His name and house is,' which could very well be the correct answer," Williams told the publication via email. "'Jaehaerys' is just a theory, after all."
Jaehaerys is one of the names that probably suits the Targaryens. In addition, Williams claims that it even has ties to the Night's Watch.
According to Williams, Jaehaerys I was the fourth Targaryen king that sat on the Iron Throne. His prosperous and long rule was aided by Alysanne, his sister-wife and the person who convinced him to expand the Night's Watch. Jaehaerys also granted them the land, which is now known as the New Gift.
Recently, it was confirmed by HBO that Rhaegar is Jon Snow's father for sure. William used the following video as his basis for the new theory.
